Income Tax Screening Clinic Volunteers Cold Lake and District FCSS is looking for organized volunteers who enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds.  Income tax screening is the first point of contact for clients seeking help with income tax filing.  FCSS is seeking volunteers for the following roles at our upcoming Income Tax Screening Clinics. Hosts – welcome clients, pre-screen for program eligibility, maintain document control and flow of clients through the clinic. Screeners – review the clients’ paperwork and slips to ensure that the information needed to process their income taxes is correct and up-to-date. Telephone Assistants – help clients update personal information and requires missing slips. It is played with a perforated plastic ball and a wood or composite paddle. It is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced competitive game for experienced players. Triple P Parenting Discussion Group – Developing Good Bedtime Routine Children need a good night’s sleep so they have enough energy for the next day’s activities.  Parents also need adequate sleep and some child-free time to ensure their own needs are being met.  As children grow, they can learn to become more independent in their sleep routine and be less demanding than infants.  The goal is for children to develop healthy, independent sleep patterns. This discussion group will give some positive parenting strategies to help you develop a good bedtime routine.  Childcare may be available.  Please register at least 3 days in advance if you require childcare. Guided Meditation Guided meditation, which is also knows as guided imagery, uses words and images to help move our attention away from worry, stress and pain to help find our own inner strength and creativity.  This brings the natural powers of the mind into a state of health and healing.  Guided medication can promote relaxation, which can lower blood pressure and reduce other problems related to stress.  We can also use it to help reach goals such as losing weight or quitting smoking, managing pain and promoting healing.  We will create healthy bath salts using essential oils, flowers and crystals.
