Concept development and design will begin this spring and summer on a proposed aquatics centre to be built at the Energy Centre.
The City has completed a pair of draft long-range planning documents which set a clear path for how Cold Lake and the surrounding area in the Municipal District of Bonnyville will grow and develop in the future. The proposed statutory documents are now ready for public review and feedback, before being formally adopted.
In consultation with a downtown business group and the Cold Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce, Cold Lake City Council approved a request to allocate funding that will lend a hand in developing a security pilot project for the city’s commercial districts.
Cold Lake City Council unanimously passed a motion to voice the City’s concerns over the U.S. executive decision to halt work on the Keystone XL pipeline, as well as Canada’s increasingly precarious position in the global market as an oil-producing nation.
The Cold Lake Regional Utility Services Commission (RUSC) and the Bonnyville Regional Water Commission (BRWC) have arrived at a supply agreement, preparing for water delivery through the new water pipeline.
At a Special Council Meeting held on January 18, 2021, Cold Lake City Council voted to continue with several initiatives to assist residents and businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
